“I am very definitely a woman and I enjoy it” Marilyn Munroe
I decided on a little change of pace for this blog. We are always working on bettering ourselves for ‘work’ or ‘life in general’ but very rarely do I touch on actual pampering advice. Another very important part of our life which we often neglect because we are too tired or don’t have the money.
My very good friend, Donna Dwyer, a beauty therapist and fitness trainer and the owner of D’renovar Skin and Body Management recently sent out her newsletter. I have decided to pass on a few of her words of wisdom and no doubt you will hear from her again in the future.
So here’s a couple of fast ‘pick me ups’ that you can easily do.
The Lips have it..
To find the perfect pink lipstik or gloss, check out the inside of your lips and cheek. Match your new lip colour to that colour – voila a perfect shade!
DIY Face Mask for Dry, Damaged Dull Skin!
It isn’t always easy to see a beauty therapist for a facial boost – so how about one you do at home yourself.
- 8-10 blueberries (more if you plan to eat some!)
- 1 tablespoon greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Mix all ingredients together. Thoroughly cleanse your face and neck. Spread the mask mixture over both areas, avoiding the eyes.
Leave on for 15 minutes, rinse and pat dry. Follow up with your moisturiser.
Did you know?
Blueberries are packed with antioxidants to fight free radical damage and an ellagic acid, a polyphenol, that reduces inflammation and skin thickening caused by sun damage.
Yoghurt for lactic acid which aids exfoliating and smoothing of the skin’s surface.
Lemon juice to brighten the skin.
And of course, if you don’t like it on your face, you can eat it!
Thanks Donna for your little tips and if you would like to find out any more visit her Facebook page.
